Bench

Product Description

BenchThe Lattimor House backless bench is reproduced from a style that was common in Victoria County, Ontario (where Lattimor House Reproduction Furniture is located) in the early part of the 19th century. The trestle ends were a traditional feature that comes from the Scottish or Irish heritage of this bench. Some original examples had shoes connecting each pair of feet.

This simple bench served an all-purpose function, especially in the kitchens of Upper Canada. In peasant cottages it was used for seating at meals and by the hearthside. Today the Lattimor House Reproduction of the Victoria County bench works well in a front hallway or kitchen. It's a great companion to our reproduction harvest table. Put a Harvest Table, Primitive Dish Dresser and two benches together for a great rustic dining suite.
